Marital Counseling
Ask any married couple and they will readily tell you marriage has its ups and downs. In Matthew 19, Jesus gives a teaching moment on Marriage. Jesus reminds his followers that God created man and women to become "one flesh" upon marriage. In verse 12, Jesus says, "The one who can accept this should accept it". Simply put, Jesus is telling his followers if they enter into marriage they should accept the joys as well as the trials that accompany becoming "one".

As we know, those trails can become daunting and overshadow the entire relationship. Couples might pursue marital counseling as a last resource. Pastoral counseling proves a safe space to help couples hear and say things they have not been able to say alone or too harshly when said. A good counselor can help provide guidance, direction, teaching, encouragement and/or support that will help you navigate through historically difficult patterns or situations.
However, marriage counseling is not only for those who are having difficulty in marriage. Marriage counseling can also be considered "preventative care". Marriage counseling can help a couple grow into a deeper relationship with one another.

Marital counseling looks different for each couple. Individual counseling may transition into marriage counseling involving both spouses. One spouse may see one counselor while the other sees another.
